HADSA is pleased to announce that Susan Peoples will be coming to Iowa City on May 8, 2008!

Based on 30 years of educational experience and a decade of research and clinical observation, Sue will provide conference attendees practical information and the tools to help children become successful in the school and the community. This workshop will be beneficial for special ed teachers, regular ed teachers, parents, family members, paraprofessionals, and those who interact with our beautiful children!
The workshop will provide an overview of the specific learning needs characteristic of children with Down syndrome and define their academic impact.  Short- and long-term curriculum goals will be identified, educators will be provided with the scope and sequence of essential academic skills, and they will be informed how to create appropriately programmed materials that support the curricular successes of children who have Down syndrome in an inclusive setting.
